Hello's
"Hello, again hello!" I sang that song for my father. It is another one of my Neil Diamond favorites. I can remember how important it was to hear my father's voice on the other end of the phone.
Through the years, as my two sons decided to grow up, I have wrapped those words around hearing their voices, too.
There's an excitement about the word "Hello." I think about holidays, and all types of reunions. When calling someone, hearing them say "Hello" makes me sigh. It says, "Oh, good. You are there. I wanted you to be. I needed to speak with you."
"I would give anything to hear my parents say it one more time..."Hello!"
It is the opposite I dread so much.
"I wish you enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Good-bye."
